What does today's mountain enthusiast look for in their shoes? Above all, versatility, and the Duke Mid GTX, the first shoe in the new Hiking Advanced category from Kayland, is the perfect answer.

SOLE
The mountaineering DNA of Kayland runs through the Duke Mid GTX: the sole unit features a significant increase in the EVA midsole and has been specifically designed to provide maximum comfort and good cushioning - even on the toughest terrains.
The foot rests directly on the dual-density EVA midsole which has a soft contact area. This is complemented by a high-density ESS zone situated just above the outsole, designed to provide optimal cushioning against impacts and can be seen through the openings in the Vibram® Duke sole.
The outsole benefits from a traction stud technology: a sole pattern specifically designed for varied terrains, stones, gravel, and grass, which ensures better ground grip.
The toe features a climbing zone, ideal for more demanding trails or via ferrata, while the rubber toe cap and the extended wings of the sole protect the foot and provide better shock absorption.

UPPER AND LINING
The Duke Mid GTX features a fabric upper with seamless PU inserts and the Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane laminated directly on top. This special construction technique guarantees minimal weight. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and has a rear spoiler that flexes perfectly with the ankle's movement.

Shock protection is ensured thanks to the Overlasting construction of Kayland, combining a polyurethane rand that completely protects the toe and a prolonged sole length that wraps around the shoe's toe to provide additional protection against impacts.

The lace closure is precise and comfortable with tape eyelets and lace hooks to ensure that the laces stay in place throughout your hike.
