What does today’s mountain enthusiast look for in their shoes? Above all, versatility, and the Duke Mid GTX, the first boot in Kayland's new Hiking Advanced category, is the perfect answer.

SOLE
The alpine DNA of Kayland runs through the Duke Mid GTX: the sole unit sees a significant increase in the EVA midsole and has been specifically designed to provide maximum comfort and cushioning for the feet – even on the most challenging terrain.
The foot rests directly on the double-density EVA midsole which has a soft contact area. This is combined with a high-density ESS zone placed just above the outsole, designed to provide optimal shock absorption against impacts and visible through the openings present in the Vibram® Duke sole.
The outsole features traction lug technology: a sole pattern specifically designed for varied terrains, stones, gravel, and grass, ensuring better grip underfoot.
The front of the shoe includes a climbing zone, ideal for more demanding trails or via ferratas, while the rubber toe cap and extended wings of the sole protect the foot and offer better shock absorption.

UPPER AND LINING
The Duke Mid GTX has a fabric upper with seamless PU inserts and the Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane laminated directly onto it. This special construction technique keeps the weight to a minimum. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and features a rear wing, which moves perfectly with the ankle's movements.

Impact protection is ensured thanks to Kayland's Overlasting construction, which combines a polyurethane toe cap, which fully protects the front of the foot, and an extended sole length that wraps around the front of the boot for extra impact protection.

The lacing system is precise and comfortable with band eyelets and lace hooks to ensure that the laces stay in place throughout your hike.
